Join us Thursday, June 13 from 6 to 8 p.m in the Signal Akron office for our inaugural Akron Documenters Community Of Practice (DCoP), our free gathering and learning exchange.
Akron Documenters Community Of Practice (DCoP) is a learning exchange for Documenters, but it’s open to anyone. You don’t need to have attended a Documenters orientation or training. Whether you’ve taken no assignments or 20, come connect with other civic minded Akronites and learn more about this community and our work. Come and share what you’re learning, and learn what others have to share.
On deck for our first DCoP: • Group conversation: Six months in, how are things going with Akron Documenters? We’ll talk highs, lows and changes for the next six months. • Small group breakout discussions… led by you!
Do you have an issue, a question, or a challenge you are sitting with? Drop us a line, or bring it to DCoP and we’ll host a breakout room discussion! For example, at recent Cleveland DCoP, a Documenter asked for advice on making groceries more affordable (see the responses from the notes for that breakout conversation in our DCoP public agenda).
Based on Neighbor Up’s Virtual Community of Practice, DCoP is a way to build community through sharing knowledge and skills. Come with a question, an idea, something you’re sitting with, or just to hang out and listen. Let’s get together! We’ll have food for sure!
