SANDAG- Board Room

The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) oversees work on federal and state requirements and local concerns regarding transportation accessibility issues for the elderly and persons with disabilities. The Social Services Advisory Council reports to the Transportation Committee, which in turn reports to the SANDAG Board of Directors.

SSTAC meetings are generally bimonthly. At least once a year, the council holds a public hearing to solicit input on transportation needs from older individuals, persons with disabilities, and persons with limited means, in accordance with the California Public Utilities Code.

SANDAG Working Groups are advisory bodies that report to a Policy Advisory Committee on a specialized area of responsibility. They are a great way to get involved in regional programs and provide opportunities for residents, elected officials, agency staff, and representatives of civic and community groups to come together to discuss or act on specific subject areas that support policies created by the SANDAG Board of Directors. Based on input from Working Groups, Policy Advisory Committees make recommendations to the Board of Directors.
